| We have partnered with Tucows/OpenSRS to register and handle
domains registrations.
When you transfer your domain name to us you can take
advantage of:
- Lower Domain Name Renewal Fees
- Excellent Email & Web Forwarding Services
- Professional reliable web site hosting services
- Friendly, reliable technical support
How it works:
When you bought your domain name it was registered
for you as the owner (hopefully!).
The company that did the registration will have assigned
an email address as the
"Administrative Contact".
You need to know what that email address is! It "should"
by you, or at least someone with whom you can get in
touch. If it is you, make sure you are able to receive
email on that address.
How to proceed:
1) Complete the form here.
2) Once we have received your details, we will
send an email to the Administrative Contact (that's
you hopefully!). In the email there is a link to a web
page at our domain name site uk-webnames.co.uk.
The administrative contact logs on to that page and
approves the transfer.
3) We submit a transfer request to the registrar
of the company from whom you bought the domain name.
4) Your registrar will require you to approve
the transfer.
5) Your registrar transfers the domain to our
registrar.
Done!
How long does a domain transfer take?
This is entirely up to the organisation you bought
your domain from. It CAN
be done 'same day' if you and your registrar respond
promptly to the emails.
How much does a transfer cost?
If (and only if) your transfer succeeeds will there
be any charge from our side.
If it does succeed we extend your domain registration
by one year (from the date
it was going to expire) and charge you for one year's
registration (£16).
Probably there will not be a "transfer charge"
from your existing registrar. However, you will need
to check their terms and conditions for this.
What if I need to transfer the domain away from you at a future
date?
Just fax a signed request to 01872 530814 and we will
action your request
within 24 hours (usually within the hour!). The only
exception would be if your
account is not up to date.
We make no charge for transfers.
